Greetings on this wet winter’s day in the South East of England where most of the trees are naked and Christmas lights are starting to flicker on people’s houses.

Since my last update I have had radiotherapy to the primary tumour in my lung after it grew for the first time in over three years. I’m told it could take as long as a year to disappear, but “disappear” is music to my ears and “as long as a year” chimes a few encouraging notes too! I’ll take that.

I’m also ecstatic to report that after high levels of scanxiety due to a long run of headaches, my beautiful brain remains fine and dandy. No progression or new disease!  Big fat phew.

I celebrated my four-year cancerversary in October and am now looking ahead to 2019 with a spring in my step and hope in my heart. We will begin the year in our new home, which we are moving into on December 14th. All a bit sudden, but exciting. Time to clear our clutter and shift some energy after all this time living with cancer in the house we currently rent (mortgages not being available to peeps with ‘terminal’ diagnoses). Our new place is smaller, but it’s full of light and looks out across the countryside from a much bigger garden where a tsunami of joy swept through me on bright blue, chilly winter’s day. My Mum is coming to stay for Christmas, our first without Dad, whose remarkable life we gave thanks for at an exquisite service a few weeks ago.

And on life rolls.

Sophie that’s wonderful news. I’ve been following your journey since buying your book for my brother who had brain tumor – he was born to eternal life July 2017. May your new home bring many blessings for you and your family. You are an inspiration! Love from rural Australia.
